Hello! My name is Amanda Hutchinson, and I am a junior journalism major at Ithaca College with minors in biology and Spanish, and a Deaf studies minor in the works. I am a regular writer for our campus magazine, Buzzsaw, and I contribute to our school paper, The Ithacan, with feature articles. I enjoy reading, writing, and talking about science, which I got to do with my position at the Sciencenter in Ithaca, and I hope to utilize my dual expertise in journalism and biology to become a science journalist à la Science Friday or Discovery Magazine. I have also worked in IT for the school as well as a defense contractor back home in Connecticut for the past two years. In my spare time, I play percussion for the Ithaca College Gamer Symphony Orchestra, and I enjoy cooking.
